Well, the time finally came: I packed my suitcase, kissed my loved ones good-bye, took a taxi to the airport and off I came to the US, flying the not-so-friendly skies on a small American Airlines airplane. I was in time for everything, but still we lost our connection to Chicago from Dallas.
It was not so bad after all; we had the time to get acquainted with the other teachers from Cedros as we broke bread together at a colorful restaurant near our gate. I just realized that many people's approach to learning English is the same one I take with exercise: "Fiddle dee dee! I'll think about that tomorrow". I mean, who am I to judge? The more overwhelming a task seems to be, the harder it is to take the first step.
Rafaela picked us up at the airport (at midnight!) and had the patience to wait until we all were in the building, received our cards and blankets. What a nice lady!
